This is very minor, and will not affect the performance of mower, nor it crack anymore in that area. The handle bars are excellent as well and it comes with original white grip at top of. As the pictures show, it has no fading, scratches, and decals are all in excellent shape. This would be an excellent mower to put in ones collection, or use for every week mowing.
I have heard it doesn't work anyway so never looked into any further. It is located at the very back of deck. The shame of it all, is that original shroud has a leak in fuel tank, and I have not found anyone plastic welds. This has a new old stock crankcase which means machine no crank end play.
This mower is obviously too nice to restore being in the condition its. This 21 mower cuts Lawn so well, it looks like a carpet when your done. Also included is the chute, hardware for bag, mulch plate, and side discharge plate. I wanted to keep this unit original because its so nice.
This has a d-601 series engine with 105 lbs of compression which is super for d-series. The replacement shroud I have on it, looks pretty good, but not nearly as nice what original one is. You can see it looks like the mower was run into something, and caused a divot in deck that is where there tiny crack at edge. The deck has almost no pitting as pictures show, and very little paint wear.
The model , serial it is so quiet with that large aluminum muffler underneath. It looks like its been there for years. Up for bids is a 1976 vintage Lawn-boy 21 walk-behind 2-cycle mower.
It is almost too nice to throw out. The blade has been sharpened, filed, and balanced. The mower comes with a new old stock rear bag that looks little dirty from outside as it was sitting on shelf for so many years, but has never been used.
This mower sounds so quiet and runs excellent starting on usually 1 pull each time. I took a picture of the only tiny crack in entire housing. The mower takes a 32:1 gas and oil mix ratio.
The aluminum housing coupled with 2-cycle engine, creates so much suction and vacuum for a well manicured Lawn. The mower also has a new stater plate bearing, muffler gasket, top and bottom crankshaft seals, governor weights collar, primer bulb base, gas shut off valve, lines, plastic float with needle, bowl air cleaner, cleaner cover, starter pinion, blade adapter nut, ck-14 spark plug.
