I have never had a 317 before so maybe that is how they are. Blades work as they should. Tractor moves smoothly like it should and stops when is in neutral on the hydro lever.
This spring it got new plugs, oil change, John Deere brand mule drive belt and blades sharpened. I can do a video of it running and driving too. See pictures.
It fires up right away and runs smooth. See pictures inside hydro spool lever is frozen up.
Ready to mow mower deck. Hydro-static drive. I have a 1980 John Deere 317 with series 2 Kohl 17 horse motor. I have more pictures can send if you are interested.
Unsure of hours because it has no hour meter. Tires have some weathering to them but hold air. The deck lift is operated by outside lever.
Has led light pods. Issues: previous owner did some painting on it and got over spray the frame, decals, dash, so. The muffler seems to have been welded on in past and is a little noisy my opinion.
