The self propell does a good job of pulling up hills. I bought it new from home depot I can't remember the exact year but I think it was it cut my thick grass very efficiently.

I'm only selling it because I moved into a town home and I no longer need to mow my own grass. It cranks on the first pull almost always. This has been a great mower.
