Mower deck is complete, very solid, and recently restored, although it does need a new seal in the gear box. The tractor sells as is, where is.
It weighs 645 pounds, dry weight - was made to last, obviously, as is 48 years old. This is not like the current low-end MDT Bolens lawnmowers. This tractor features a six speed forward manual transmission with high and low ranges, as well front power take off.
This Bolens tractor is very steerable. Tires are very serviceable with some weather checking, but hold air fine.
The lights probably work, but need a new switch. Spindles and blades, etc. It is constructed out of cast iron and steel, not plastic. The drive belt is brand new.
All eight gears six forward, two reverse work fine. The transmission has a growl in it that is typical for this model - does not affect its performance. It is also being offered for sale locally.
The low range is a granny gear, and will pull most anything. I have never mounted or used the deck. Local pick-up only - bring a trailer. The two pots work fine Bolens husky, model ,tube frame garden tractor, with 42 mower deck good solid tractor original seat, paint, and decals.
Nice straight tin showing only minor surface rust. The original somewhat rare embossed brown vinyl seat is in great condition, showing only one small 2 tear. A new, complete set of Bolens 1253 decals and several small spare parts will go with this sale. Turn freely.
