Both rear tires hold air and are usable but have small age cracks. The right front tire is usable with age cracks but tube leaks flat after 3-4 weeks. The hood was previously cracked by front bolt holes. It starts and runs good but smokes.
The brown primer areas seen in picture are where repairs were made. No obvious weld repair can be seen. The welds that hold main guard of tiller were broken and repaired at some time in its life Bolens ride-a-matic garden tractor with rear mounted this is a 1959 tractor, type number, serial unreadable, tag damaged. Cash at pickup is accepted.
If someone wants to put an original throttle in the correct place, this bracket can be removed leaving no extra holes where temporary was used. It has the original engine. The frame has been repaired welded at front under engine. It smokes and needs new belts.
Carburetor has damage at one of the three air cleaner screw threads. The aftermarket throttle lever didn fit original holes so I made a bracket that bolts to existing mount. All the parts are there and work well.
The variable speed belt system works but slips at higher speeds because belts are old and worn out. In addition to the variable speed belt system there is 3 sets of sprockets on chain drive. The rear mounted tiller is shaft drive from a gear box below engine.
That section of the guard is painted brown primer. The guard over right section of tiller was missing so I made one from new metal. The steering, shift linkages, and other things are worn like you might expect on a well used tractor of this age.
No extra layers of metal or obvious repair can be seen. The left front tire is bad with some splits between tread pattern but tube holds air. It runs and drives, everything works.
